Globally, millions of businesses are listed for sale, but many never sell, whereas others fetch high profits. Valuing a business is complex, involving calculations and understanding of value drivers, which most small and medium business sellers lack.
Misconceptions abound; years of hard work don't always equate to high valuations. Sales success hinges on various factors—a company with 25% net profits, solid staff retention, and positive cash flow will naturally be more attractive than one with low profits, high turnover, and cash issues.
"The Multiple Myth" aims to guide sellers on enhancing their business's value and
buyers on making informed offers based on a business's true worth.
About John
Having written a book on fables "Hurry Up Son" about being in business when sales are not going as well as we hoped, or operations are not working as efficiently as we would like, we can overly complicate matters by diving deep into sophisticated analysis of data in search for the answer. However, sometimes the answers are right in front of our noses. Hurry Up Son, is a story told as a fable with practical examples of how sometimes the most obvious actions are the ones that form the answer to the problem. The author, John Evans, tells a compelling story using Harry Upson as the character who gets employed at the lowest level in the post room, but through his keen eye and nose for the obvious embarks on a career that ultimately changes a advertising agency into a world renowned consulting group, which eventually goes through an IPO.
John is an avid musical fan having written musicals and there are discussions afoot about a potential comedy series.

John Evans spent 30+ years in corporate life, working for blue chip world class companies such as HSBC, GE Capital and Avis Europe.
